Today, the 12th of June, we Filipinos are celebrating our Independence Day.
Our ancestors fought for centuries to give this day to us -- a day we can be proud of. Our heroes' tears, blood, and ultimately lives were offered unselfishly and with deep patriotism so that this generation and the generation after them will live free from the grasps of the oppressor.
As we celebrate the one hundred and twelve years of freedom, we remember those who have fallen and sacrificed their lives. We thanked them (the named and unnamed heroes) for this truly incomparable gift.
Along with the celebration, we also pray that a generation of such patriots and unselfish people be amongst us now for we have been facing new oppressors, a faceless oppressors, that has plaguing our nation. Such faceless oppressors has been tarnishing the very freedom our heroes have fought for.

My first blog
After many tries and dillydallying on starting a blog, I am finally making one now! Why it took me a long time to really start was that I am not sure what to blog about, and this time, I am still not sure what to blog about lol. I will just comfort myself that at least I started to do so. What a big step, deserving a pat on the back?! :)
